CT disability attorney John B. Myer was born and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut. He attended Fairfield Public Schools and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School. After graduation, attorney Myer worked in various jobs including operating tractor trailers for his family’s business.
At age 27 attorney Myer embarked on his college career. In 1994 he graduated summa cum laude from Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury, Connecticut with an AS in liberal arts. He transferred to The University of Hartford and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Government in 1996. He was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Chi.
In 1996 Attorney Myer began his law school career at Quinnipiac College School of Law on a partial scholarship. He attained Distinguished Academic Achievement Awards in legal skills and professional ethics. Upon graduation he won an award for excellence in clinical work for his advocacy on behalf of clients of the Quinnipiac College School of Law Health Law Clinic. During his time at QCLS Attorney Myer attained membership into the Moot Court Honor Society. His team competed in the Evidence Law competition held at Brooklyn School of Law and finished in the round of eight. He graduated in the top quarter of his class of 180. Attorney Myer worked part time as a temporary assistant clerk for Waterbury Superior Court until graduation where he clerked for Judges Pellegrino, West and Leheney. Attorney Myer gained considerable real life experience in civil and family law in this capacity.
Attorney Myer has practiced law for almost ten years with concentrations in personal injury and workers’ compensation. Attorney Myer is dedicated to public service and is past chief of the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department. His dedication to helping his neighbors in their time of need carries over to his practice of law.
Attorney Myer is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and the Federal Court for the District of Connecticut. He holds a Class A commercial driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement and is a licensed emergency medical technician. He is certified by the State of Connecticut Commission on Fire Prevention and Control to the Fire Officer I level, and by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a hazardous materials technician. Attorney Myer’s exposure to traumatic events as a first responder, such as motor vehicle accidents and the devastation of fire, gives him considerable insight into the needs of the clients he represents.
